Why Environmental Education?
Environmental education is about teaching people how to think, not what to think. The goal is to have people who understand that they are part of a system, that they have a role to play in the system, and that their actions have implications. We live in a world of relationships, and as a result every choice has an impact on the world around us. Very few people understand the leading causes of environmental issues or how they should be addressed.

The vision of environmental education is not just about good education, or even what’s good for the environment, it’s a systems view of how environment, economy, and community can work together. We need environmental education TO EMPOWER people to make INFORMED choices about environmental issues.
